How verification works
The K&T Verified badge means someone independent has checked the paperwork and the car, before you spend a shilling on transport to see it.
Four steps to the badge
- Step 1
Logbook check
We confirm the seller’s ID matches the logbook, that the chassis and engine numbers match the car, and look for loans or caveats on the registration.
- Step 2
Garage inspection
An independent partner garage inspects the car and runs a computer diagnostic scan. Anything they find goes into the inspection summary, good or bad.
- Step 3
Verified photos
Photos are taken at the inspection, so what you see online is the car you will view. The inspection date is shown on the listing.
- Step 4
Badge goes live
The listing gets the K&T Verified badge with the garage name, the date and a short summary you can read before you travel.

Verification FAQs
What does the K&T Verified badge mean?
It means we have checked that the seller owns the car, that the logbook matches the chassis and engine numbers, and that a partner garage has inspected the car. The photos on a verified listing were taken at the inspection.
Does Verified mean the car has no faults?
No. It means the car has been checked and anything the garage found is written in the inspection summary on the listing. Always read the summary and test drive the car before you pay.
How recent is the inspection?
The inspection date is shown on every verified listing. If a listing stays up for a long time we ask the seller to renew the inspection.
Can I ask for an inspection on a car that is not verified?
Yes. Use the “Request inspection” button on the listing and we will arrange it with the seller and a partner garage near the car.
Who are the partner garages?
Independent garages we have vetted in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru. They do not sell cars on K&T Motors, so they have no reason to favour the seller.
